Palmeiras youngster Gabriel Jesus, who scored twice and provided an assist in the 4-0 win over Atlético Paranaense on Saturday in the Brazilian Championship, evaded questions from reporters on the interest from Italian side Juventus.
Juventus would’ve already identified Gabriel Jesus as the player they need to fill the possible absence of Spanish striker Álvaro Morata, who is rumoured to return to Real Madrid in the summer. According to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus even sent a €15 million proposal to Palmeiras, and hopes to beat off competition from Manchester United and Inter Milan, who are also closely observing the development of the 19-year-old. Gabriel Jesus said at the end of the game: “I am calm. I am a boy who just played his football today, and I do not worry about speculations. My game is here and I am proud, and I want to be here and build my career here.”
Despite reports in the media, Palmeiras’ board affirms that they haven’t received any official offers for the player.
