Santos are aware that a big German club would be willing to pay €25 million for Gabigol. The club"s board has been informed of the offer, and the official document will be delivered this week by Wagner Ribeiro, the player"s agent. The agent did not disclose the name of the team, but UOL Esporte found that the proposal is from Borussia Dortmund. It all started after a meeting between Wagner Ribeiro and Santos president Modesto Roma. During the meeting, the president told Wagner Ribeiro that he would accept to sell the player for a figure below his €50m clause. Modesto also warned that he needs €30 million if he"s to release the youngster. After that Ribeiro travelled to Europe, and searched for a proposal that appeals to Santos.
He said: “About Gabriel, he [Modesto Roma] said: ‘If you have a very good proposal, then I"d sell." I asked him, and he said over €30 million. Then I worked, and now there"s already a €25m offer. It"s from a German club, a top German club [Borussia Dortmund], I wouldn"t say the name. [The official proposal] is coming."
Wagner Ribeiro added that English clubs are also eyeing the striker. He said: “There are English clubs behind him, too. We"ll see where Gabigol wants to play. The clause is €50m but they"ll sell for €30m."
