Brazil boss Dunga accepts that Brazil are under pressure to win their first ever Olympic gold for football with the games on home soil this summer, but says that he is very confident with the work that has gone into the U-23 squad.

Brazil have drawn Iraq, South Africa and Denmark in their group and Dunga believes that his team will be in for a hard time, “Recently We played with South Africa and won, but now they will play a tournament which is different. Iraq is also a country that has a tradition of Olympic competitions.

“Denmark was European under-21 vice-champion and this team is based on that squad. We have to trust in our work for two years. We are monitoring several players in the Seleção and in the clubs, and we are very confident,” he affirmed at Wednesday’s draw.

“We have to know how to deal with pressure. It’s an Olympiad, is different from the World Cup, it will have a different audience, but with pressure always. The most important thing is we prepare well, deal with the short time we have to work and have confidence in our players.”

Dunga is likely to have Neymar available as one of his three over 23 players allowed in the squad, but Barcelona are unwilling to let him play in the Copa América too. Dunga insists he has not given up hope of having his captain for both tournaments.

“We always want to have the best players in all competitions. We are talking to the clubs, not just Barcelona, but all the other teams because we want to work in the best possible way. To date there is no decision. We have a plan, and when we have the decisions we will report them.”
