Brazil coach Dunga has admitted that he would rather have Neymar in Brazil’s Olympic squad in July than the team that will contest the centenary Copa America in June. Brazil will play in both tournaments, the latter calls for an U-23 squad, with three players over the age of 23 permitted for selection.

Dunga is mulling over whether to make Neymar one of his three overage additions. Brazil has never won an Olympic gold for football and the games will be taking place on home soil, "It"s hard to choose," Dunga told Esporte Interativo TV.

“But I think the question of importance, it"s by the Olympic [gold] medal Brazil has never won. Neymar comes from an exhausting season and would have time to recover. He would come with conditioning. But it would be good to count on him in the two competitions."

Barcelona are likely to provide stern opposition if Brazil opt to select him for both tournaments, though technically, they could not prevent Dunga from doing so, as both are FIFA mandated tournaments, leaving clubs powerless to withdraw players chosen to play.
