Paraguayan national team will have a new face when they take on Brazil in Asunción on 29th March in the South American qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Coach Ramón Diaz announced a list of 27 players on Tuesday with the presence of Argentine attacker Juan Iturbe. Dubbed the “new Messi” early in his career, Juan Iturbe made a decision in recent weeks to represent the Paraguayan national squad. Although the player was born in Buenos Aires, his parents are from Paraguay. On loan from Italian side AS Roma, the 22-year-old attacker has been playing for Bournemouth in the Premier League, since January. Two names that operate in Brazilian football are on the list; striker Lucas Barrios from Palmeiras and defender Fabián Balbuena, who joined Corinthians in February. Before the fixture against Brazil, the Paraguayans will face leaders Ecuador, on the 24th, in Quito.
