Paris Saint Germain defender David Luiz says that Chelsea will always have a place in his heart. The Brazilian spent four years at Stamford Bridge and returns with current club PSG on Wednesday night in the Champions League 2nd round 2nd leg.

However, the ex Benfica defender also insists that he is “ready for war” as he returns to his old club, “I’m ready for war, for the battle. I think things are looking good for us to qualify,” Luiz said.

“I love giving everything for my team. I know very well it’s not easy to play at Chelsea. They know how to get results. We have to be careful.

On Diego Costa, Luiz added: “Diego is a great player, we speak in Portuguese and he is a great friend. His style of play is to play with contact, to speak, to intimidate. He tries to get defenders yellow cards.

“For all the match, he is bang, bang, bang. He can hit you on the head during the match and then after the match come and embrace you.”

Luiz insists that PSG must stick to their philosophy, as they take a 2-1 lead to London, “It’s good to come out of the first match victorious,” he said, “but nothing has been decided yet. It will be another great game at Stamford Bridge, and I hope we can also come out as winners there.

“London was a city and a club where I was very happy. I had some great moments there, but I am focused on my work, which is to play for PSG. Our game philosophy is to play – to keep possession, create opportunities to score goals. We have to stick to our philosophy, and we know that for now the result is in our favour.”
