Liverpool’s Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho has talked about the coaches he’s worked with in his career, and believes Jürgen Klopp has helped him improve individually.
Coutinho says that the team are moving in the right direction under the former Borussia Dortmund coach, and the players have adapted to his methods. When talking about the coaches he had in his career, Coutinho mentioned the current leader of the Brazilian team, Dunga. In addition to citing Dunga, the 23-year-old also discussed his sequence in the Seleção. Coutinho told World Soccer Magazine: “I believe we are moving in the right direction under Klopp’s command, and we believe we can fight for great prizes. In practice, we are working hard, enjoying it more and more in his own way, and this is helping us to be better players.”
“I was lucky to work with some great coaches in my career, and all added something to my game. Rafa Benítez, Pochettino and Dunga are excellent coaches. But I will always be grateful to Brendan Rodgers, because he believed in me, and brought me to Liverpool. Klopp brought new ideas and they are helping me to be a better player.”
He added: “I know I need to improve a lot. I want to show and win more with the Brazilian national team. If I keep working and progressing, I think I can act in the coming years for my country, and contribute to the team.”
