Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato has returned to Corinthians after the end of his two-year loan spell at rivals São Paulo.
Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà claims he can confirm that Liverpool have an agreement in place to sign Pato for €15 million, plus bonuses. He also states that only Liverpool can break the agreement they have for the striker. Kia Joorabchian and Giuliano Bertolucci were the agents authorized by Corinthians to search proposals for Pato, and have already talked to a number of English clubs, including Liverpool. Despite the information from Italy, there hasn’t been any report from Brazilian media so far about a deal for the Merseyside team.
Corinthians are desperate to recoup at least a part of the €15m fee they spent to bring Alexandre Pato from AC Milan. The club had accepted to sell him to Chinese second-division side Tianjin Songjiang for a reported €20m, but Pato refused to move to Asia at this point.
