The name of clubs that had made proposals to sign Atlético Mineiro defender Jemerson were not revealed by those involved in the negotiations, but AC Milan are believed to be the leading candidate to land the 23-year-old.
The player"s agent, Alex Zica, confirmed that there are three concrete proposals for Jemerson to leave Atlético Mineiro. According to Superesportes MG, Milan have an advantage over other suitors and are willing to pay €10.5 million to the Brazilian club. Former player Serginho, who works for Milan in Brazil, usually assists the Italian side in these negotiations, but refused to comment when contacted. In Europe, the intermediary Giuseppe Bozzo, who"s known to assist clubs in Italy during negotiations, has worked to tailor an agreement. The lawyer tried to take Baba Rahman [now at Chelsea] from Augsburg to AS Roma last summer, but was unsuccessful.
Monaco and Porto are the other clubs interested in Jemerson, but so far, president Daniel Nepomuceno hasn"t confirmed whether the defender will continue at the club in 2016.
