Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato seems to have rejected the big money proposal to play in China.
According to Globo Esporte, the 26-year-old striker has refused to accept the proposal from Chinese second-division side Tianjin Songjiang, coached by former Real Madrid manager Vanderlei Luxemburgo. They’ve already signed Jádson from Corinthians, and Luís Fabiano, who left São Paulo after the end of his contract. However, the now former superintendent of football Andrés Sánchez was very unhappy about Pato’s decision to reject the offer from China as it was considered good by the club, and also warned that the player will suffer on his return to Corinthians, referring to the fans’ reception.
Pato has a contract with Corinthians until the end of this year, and the club are desperate to cash in and not lose him for free. Andrés told Rádio Globo: “The group receives everyone well, the group is formidable. The problem is that he cannot roll a year to leave for free. If you have proposal, you must accept. What cannot be done is to have a good offer for the club, and he did not accept! Oh, but he will suffer. What I know is that the guy cannot do this. We have our hands tied. We want to sell; if he doesn’t want to be sold, he will not be. Even if I want to sell for $1, and he didn’t accept the offer from a club, he cannot be sold.”
