The Sun newspaper is reporting that Manchester United are to table a £45m bid for Lazio’s Brazilian winger Felipe Anderson. United were heavily linked with Anderson during the summer and could be set to revive their interest.

Van Gaal’s United have suffered for creativity, with the signing of Memphis Depay having failed to ignite their attack, whilst Wayne Rooney’s form has slipped alarmingly in the last 12 months. As a consequence, United, who are out of the Champions League, have struggled to score goals this season.

It is understood that United may view winger Felipe Anderson, who, with 140 dribbles, is Serie A’s second most prolific dribbler since the start of last season, as the shot of inspiration their attack needs. Turin newspaper Tuttosport has also reported United’s interest in the Brazilian.

That said, with just one assist so far this season, £45m does seem to be a large sum of money. He can play on either flank and has 5 goals this season for the Rome club. Without a win in their last 8 games, United are thought to be desperate for reinforcements in the January window.
