Goiás president has confirmed the negotiations and 21-year-old striker Érik is very close to joining Palmeiras.
Kélvin’s departure from Palmeiras is practically settled, as the player is supposed to return to Porto after being on loan for a season. Palmeiras are also awaiting proposals to offload Argentine players Allione and Mouche, and hence the club are in search of a pacy forward who can also act on the flanks. Although Érik is subject to interest from other clubs in Brazil, like Fluminense, the president of Goiás, Sérgio Rassi has confirmed that Palmeiras are close to signing him.
Érik was the revelation of the Brazilian Championship last season, and came extremely close to joining Turkish side Fenerbahçe in August this year. Goiás had accepted a proposal of €7.5 million from Fenerbahçe, but the clubs failed to complete the transaction before the end of the transfer window. According to reports in Brazil, Palmeiras wouldn’t pay this amount and may involve other players like Maikon Leite, Amaral and Felipe Menezes in the negotiations.
