Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says that Diego Costa is happy with life at Chelsea and has refuted rumours linking him with a return to Aletico Madrid.

Costa’s scoring form has been below par for the majority of 2015, which has led to him being dropped from the starting line up for recent matches.

Costa expressed his frustration during a 0-0 draw with Spurs recently by tossing his bib at Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho when asked to sit back on the bench. In a recent interview, Costa sounded open to the idea of returning to his previous club Atletico Madrid, but Jose Mourinho has rubbished any suggestion of that happening any time soon.

“He never said he’d like to go back, he said that in football you never know,” Mourinho insisted. “Atlético is a great club, Madrid is a great city, La Liga is a great league, so why shouldn’t a player, 27 years old, think that in football it is possible to be back?

“I don’t see that as a problem. Diego is happy here, he likes to be here. He has three more years on his contract. I see him staying at Chelsea for three more years, no problem.”

Chelsea play away at Leicester City this evening, the home side will return to the top of the league with a victory over the troubled defending champions.
