Santos playmaker Lucas Lima has admitted that he has offers to leave the São Paulo club and will consider his future during the Brazilian close season. The Brasileirão ended over the weekend and now players are flying away for their holidays. Lima will take time away with his family to consider his future.

The 25 year old enjoyed a breakout season with O Peixe, forcing his way into the Brazil squad. However, Santos allowed their season to crumble in the final stages, having looked fairly secure in the final Libertadores spot in the league, as well as having qualified for the Copa do Brasil final.

But Santos allowed their league form to slip after having qualified for the Copa do Brasil final, slipping to a 7th place finish in the league. They also lost the Copa do Brasil final to city rivals Palmeiras on penalties, despite having led the first leg 1-0. This means that Santos will not be involved in the Copa Libertadores next season.

The Santos board will be bracing themselves for offers for the likes of Lima and Gabigol, with the likes of Napoli and Real Madrid said to be monitoring Lucas Lima. The player says he will go on holiday and mull over his future, with the European transfer window opening on 1st January.

“The year was very good. I won the Campeonato Paulista (the São Paulo state championships) with Santos and managed to reach the Brazilian national team, which was my goal. Now it is time to rest and enjoy the holidays. There are proposals, yes. I will sit with my family to decide about them calmly.”
