Brasileirão champions Corinthians would find it difficult to maintain their squad for the upcoming season as European clubs are following some of their key players.
According to Globo Esporte, 26-year-old central defender Felipe is the most coveted player at the moment, and his destination can be Monaco. The club has been talking directly with the agent Giuliano Bertolucci, who’s responsible for managing the career of the player. Corinthians ensures that they haven’t received official offers, but admits constant enquiries from foreign teams to discuss the situation of Felipe. He has been tipped to leave Corinthians since the first half of the season. One of the team’s highlights in the Libertadores, Felipe began to draw the attention of foreign teams. In May, he had a pay-rise and the club extended his contract until the end of 2018. Despite having a place guaranteed in the 2016 Libertadores, Corinthians does not rule out the player’s sale. The club understands that they can get a good deal for him in the international market. The economic rights are split equally between Corinthians and Banco BMG.
