Even with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny in their armoury, Brazilian defender Gabriel Paulista has said Arsenal must lean on their great team-spirit if they are to try to overcome the might of Bayern Munich. A win in Muncih would put them in with a real chance of qualifying for the next stage of the Champions League in Europe.
The North Londoners currently occupy bottom position in Group F with a mere three points.
“Unfortunately we have not quite started in the Champions League, but we recovered and showed our strength against one of the best teams in world football. It would be a disaster if we didn’t qualify for the next phase of this important championship and hopefully we can again make a great impression (against Bayern) and creep up on the leaders,“ Gabriel Paulista said.
Gabriel has played in eight games so far, six of them by the Premier League, where Arsenal shares the lead with Manchester City. Whilst also featuring in the two disappointing Champions League defeats prior to the 2-0 win over Bayern. However the Brazilian’s presence on the pitch has seen The Gunners defence concede less than one goal per match.
“We are working so that not only the individual results may appear, but the collective, even for that alone did not get anything. This is not unique to Gabriel desire, but of the entire cast, to repeat in the Champions League campaign we are doing in the league English, and affixed to the harmony of our team.” He concluded.
Arsenal, who are level on 25 points with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table face Pep Gradual’s Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday. Arsene Wenger’s men will be hoping they can replicate the type of performance that saw them secure a 2-0 win over the same opponents two weeks ago. However, Bayern who currently lead the way in Group F will be looking to extract revenge on home turf.
