Schalke and Tottenham are believed to be the two clubs reportedly planning to make an offer for Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato, currently on loan at São Paulo until the end of the year.
Reports from UOL Esporte claimed that talks between the company Art Sports, with the approval of Corinthians, and a German club have been going on, and Brazilian journalist Bruno Andrade revealed on Wednesday that it is Schalke. Tottenham also approached the Brazilian club during the summer transfer window, but negotiations didn’t advance. However, Corinthians now believe that both Schalke and Tottenham will submit proposals for Pato in January. Gilmar Veloz and Giuliano Bertolucci are the agents responsible for the negotiations, with Corinthians lowering their asking price from €10 million to €8 million. The report reckons that Art Sports representative Nílson Moura has also promised to search for proposals in the European market. Corinthians own 60% of the economic rights of Alexandre Pato, while the other 40% belongs to the player himself.
