Internacional’s medical department have confirmed that left-back Géferson will be out for the rest of the season as he needs surgery on his shoulder.
Géferson requires surgery on his shoulder because of a chronic problem and the recovery period is 90 days, as confirmed by the club. The surgery should take place this week and he will therefore miss the remainder of the season and should be back in time for the club’s pre-season in 2016. Club doctor Mateus Falcão said before Tuesday’s training session: “He will be analyzed tomorrow and the surgery must take place this week. He will miss around 90 days. This 90-day period is for him to return to the game.”
Géferson had a meteoric rise this year after establishing himself in the starting XI and was even called up to Brazil’s Copa América squad by Dunga. According to Globo Esporte, the youngster was close to leaving the club for Sampdoria in the summer transfer window.
