Arsene Wenger has been criticised by some for his lack of spending in the transfer market but one former player was full of praise for the man in an interview yesterday.
Denilson played for the London club for seven years before moving on in 2013 and still has fond memories of his time there. He now plays for Al-Wahda in Abu Dhabi but had a word of support for his former boss.
“For me he is a great coach. It was Wenger who turned players like Fabregas into the world-class players they are today. Wenger is a professional of the highest level. I wish to thank him for everything he taught me.”
“This is not a coach who talks a lot. But on the ground, his advice was invaluable. He taught me to obey tactically. However, he gave me a lot of freedom in the offensive phase. I have only positive things to say about Wenger! ” Denilson explained.

It was Wenger who turned players like Fabregas , a world-class player today. Wenger is a professional high level. I wish to thank him for everything he taught me. “
