Atlético Paranaense midfielder Zezinho has joined Portuguese side Nacional on loan.

The 23 year-old will remain in Funchal until June 2016 and will look to help Nacional – full name Clube Desportivo Nacional – improve on their 7th place finish in the 2014-15 Primeira Liga campaign.

Zezinho leaves Atlético Paranaense after making 33 appearances for the club. In those matches, he failed to score, but did registered three assists.

This season, he did not feature in any of their Brasileirão outings and was not included in a single match day squad.

Head Coach Milton Santos instead preferred to use the likes of Nikão, Marcos Guilherme and Bruno Mota in his attacking midfield positions, leaving Zezinho surplus to requirements.

The Uruguaiana native was previously loaned to Chapecoense in December 2014 and also had a spell with Atlético Goianiense earlier this year, where he managed four appearances.

Earlier in his career, Zezinho also featured 14 times for Santos and has represented Juventude and Bahia.

At Nacional, he will compete with the likes of Jota, Edgar Abreu, Willyan and Salvador Agra for a starting berth, while he joins a host of fellow Brazilians, including Washington Santana and Alan Henrique.
