New Liverpool signing Roberto Firmino says that Reds star Philippe Coutinho helped convince him to choose Liverpool over rivals Manchester United.
Several clubs were rumoured to be interested in the Brazil international over the summer, but it was the Merseyside outfit who were successful in paying £29 million to bring in the forward, who was unveiled today at the Melwood training ground.
“As a football fan, I’ve been watching the Premier League for a while now,” Firmino said.
“Liverpool was my choice because of its history and its team, and also because Coutinho told me some great things about the club.
“I hope I can bring joy to the people playing for this club.”
