The fallout from the FIFA political crisis and the arrest of former CBF president, Jose Maria Marin, shows no signs of abating in Brazil.

Current CBF president Marco Polo Del Nero has ignored requests by several stakeholders to step down according to Gazzeta Esportiva, and is instead seeking to reinforce his position by ceding more power to the clubs.

Del Nero met club representatives yesterday to discuss giving them more power in deciding on the format of national competitions, plans which may include the removal of the CBF’s right to veto proposals made by the Technical Committee, which is formed by the clubs.
