Ramires dedicated his stunning strike during Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Leicester City yesterday to his soon to be born son Bruno, due in October, celebrating the goal by tucking the ball up inside his shirt.
The Brazil international said he had been waiting some time to mark the occasion with a goal, but when it finally came it was well worth the wait, a thunderbolt of a left-footed strike from the edge of the penalty area.
Ramires said:"I had been chasing this goal for some time to pay tribute to my son Bruno who is due to be born. I came close to scoring during the game against Arsenal and this time I managed it. I think he [Bruno] will be very proud when he grows up to see the images of this day."
