Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva expressed his delight at Liverpool’s run to the FA Cup semi finals and heaped praise on his club compatriot.
Philippe Coutinho scored the only goal in Liverpool’s 1-0 victory over Blackburn in their FA Cup replay and the reds now go on to face Aston Villa at Wembley.
“It’s a massive result. I think everyone could see how hard we worked,” Lucas told LFC TV. “We knew that it was going to be very hard game in difficult conditions, but we are so happy to get to Wembley and hopefully get to the final.”
Lucas now thinks that Coutinho can go on to achieve even greater things at the club.
“I know him for a very long time and I know what he is capable of. He is becoming an even bigger player for the club. He has got a long way to go, in terms of age and experience but he is already right there with the top players.”
