Brazil legend Carlos Alberto has slammed Thiago Silva for the Paris Saint-Germain defender"s reaction to losing the captaincy to Neymar.
The PSG star was stripped of the armband by Dunga upon the coach"s appointment after the World Cup, and Silva claimed that he was upset about the siutation.
However, the World Cup-winning right-back was critical of Silva"s reaction and said that the centre-back should be thankful he part of the squad.
He told Globo: ‘Today, I would say that only one player deserves to be part of the team and that is Neymar. Others have to say thanks for being there.
‘Thiago needs to give thanks to God for being there. He is a great player but he has had problems with injury. The choice of the captain is the sole responsibility of the coach.
‘Silva says that Neymar did not speak to him [over the captaincy], but no one has to give him satisfaction, nor does he he deserve [an automatic] selection."
