Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes Chelsea midfielder Oscar was fortunate to stay on the pitch during their Premier League match yesterday.

The Blues defeated Wenger’s team 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, with the Brazilian impressing before being substituted in the 87th minute.

The Gunners boss was quoted after the match by Sports Mole and felt Oscar deserved to be sent off for a number of fouls.

The midfielder picked up a yellow card in the 86th minute before Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho substituted him.

However, Wenger felt the Brazilian should have earned more than one yellow.

He said: “I think Oscar was lucky to stay on the pitch because of the repeated fouls he made.

“He got a yellow card in the 86th minute and he was purposely fouling for the whole game on every break.

“Ivanovic also made some bad fouls. It’s not down to me.”
