Valencia goalkeeper Diego Alves has questioned Atlético Madrid’s physical approach.
Speaking before Los Che beat Diego Simeone’s side 3-1 on Saturday, Alves was eager to praise Atlético, but also pointed out that he felt they were sometimes too aggressive.
“[Atlético] has proven for years that it is [a team that is] very strong at set-pieces and has players that are among the best," he said, as reported by GOAL.com.
“But it"s not just set-pieces [they are good at], it"s a style of play they have… they try to play the perfect match in every way.
"[Atlético] is a team that competes very physically, close to the limit of the rules."
