Porto defender Alex Sandro is confident Brazil can move on from their disappointing World Cup exit.

The hosts was hammered 7-1 in the semi-finals by Germany – a result that sent the country into shock.

After such a heavy loss, some have questioned whether the Seleção can recover.

Sandro believes, however, that they can bounce back in the coming months and insists that the Germany defeat must be put in the past.

“That defeat was horrible, especially after seeing how proud Brazilians were to have organised a World Cup that the whole world was praising,” he told FIFA.com.

“It was one of those games where everything goes right for one team and everything goes wrong for the other. But we have to put it behind us now. Brazil have always had, and always will have, great teams.”
