Former Tottenham Hotspur boss André Villas Boas is interested in linking up with Brazilian midfielder Sandro again.

Villas-Boas, now head coach at Zenit St Petersburg, is looking at the possibility of signing the defensive midfielder, the Daily Telegraph report.

Telegraph believe Spurs are willing to listen to offers for the Brazilian but want far more than Napoli were reported to be willing to offer.

The Serie A club value Sandro at £8 million while Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is ready to hold out for £20 million.

Sandro has two years remaining on his contract and it is unknown if Zenit would be willing to pay such a fee for the talented midfielder.

Villas-Boas and the Brazilian appeared to have a good rapport and though the former Internacional ace is still a popular member at White Hart Lane, he has endured a frustrating past 12 months.

Injuries again curtailed his appearances last season but he also failed to impress former head coach Tim Sherwood and featured little under him.

Even though it is unknown if Sandro is in new Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino’s plans, the Brazilian may feel it is time for a new challenge regardless.

The question now remains whether Villas-Boas and Zenit will be preparing to pay £20 million for his services.
