Miroslav Klose insisted he was “truly happy” to beat Ronaldo’s World Cup scoring record.

The Lazio striker took his tally to 16 with a strike in Germany’s 7-1 semi-final victory against Brazil.

“I can’t grasp what happened. I don’t know what to say. We played really well, had a great start, were harmonic and did everything we tried out in training,” he said, as reported by Football Italia.

“Even the players on the bench were able to share our sentiments during the game.

“I was ready when Toni (Kroos) gave me the ball. I was able to score, I am truly happy.”
