Paulo Henrique Ganso is hopeful that he will get the opportunity to play alongside Kaká at São Paulo.

The Milan trequartista is expected to join new United States based franchise Orlando City in March, ahead of their debut Major League Soccer season.

Between now and then however, Kaká needs a club to play for and a return to São Paulo, where he started his career and played between 2001 and 2003, has been touted.

A potential stumbling block for the deal is Kaká’s wage demands – reports suggest São Paulo are unwilling to pay more than a third of his salary – but if an agreement can be reached, then Ganso would be delighted to welcome the 32 year-old back to the Estádio do Morumbi.

“If he was to come here then it would be great for the whole environment,” he told Globoesporte this week, as reported by Football Italia.

“Together we can make a difference and return São Paulo to the top.”

The return of Kaká would be a welcome boost to Head Coach Muricy Ramalho, as he looks to build on an impressive start to the 2014 Brasileirão. São Paulo are currently in 4th after nine matches on 16 points – the same as 2nd placed Fluminense.

For Kaká, this may be a last chance to win the Brasileirão. During his previous spell at São Paulo, he won the 2001 Torneio Rio – São Paulo and was part of Brazil’s 2002 FIFA World Cup winning squad, but fell short in the Brasileirão, coming 7th in 2001 and 5th in 2002.
