Goalkeeper Júlio César has highlighted the important of Brazil’s victory against Croatia.

The Seleção opened the 2014 FIFA World Cup with a 3-1 win against the Croats and though they weren’t always impressive, Júlio César insists the most important thing is that they won.

“The first match is always very important,” he told Sky Sport Italia. When you win, you’re more comfortable to play the second. If we had lost, the pressure would be enormous and it would have been much more difficult.”

Brazil face Mexico next at the Castelão on 17 June.
