Atlético Madrid defender João Miranda has confirmed that he has offers from clubs in Spain and England as speculation over his future mounts.

The 29-year-old enjoyed a stellar 2013/14 campaign with Atlético and many felt he was extremely unlucky to miss out on a spot in Brazil’s World Cup squad.

A host of clubs are now being linked with a move for the Brazilian following his exceptional year, with Manchester United and Barcelona both reportedly interested in the defender.

Miranda spoke to Radio Espn recently, with Sky Sports quoting the comments from the defender.

The Atlético Madrid ace told the radio station: “I have some offers and we are negotiating.

“I have offers from Spanish and English leagues and from some less important ones too.

“My agent is in Europe to decide my future, my buy-out fee at Atletico Madrid is €30million, but that can be negotiated.”

These comments from the Brazilian will worry Atlético fans as it seems likely that Miranda will depart the club. They’ll hope the €30 million buy-out clause can’t be negotiated as they look set to lose a host of star players this summer.
