Zenit St. Petersburg and Brazil forward Hulk hastold the official website of World Cup organising body FIFA that it will be one of the usual suspects to lift the 2014 trophy- although he has also tipped one or two other sides to progress in the tournament.

Hulk, who will be featuring at his first World Cup at the age of 27, was asked whop his favourites for the competition were and said: “At the World Cup it’s hard to look much further than the traditional big-name teams: history backs that up.”

“Therefore, of course, you have Brazil, Spain, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Argentina… all of whom are great teams and usually do well.”

“But, aside from the usual suspects, I think that Urugay and Belgium are both capable of springing a surprise.”

The 2014 World Cup is seen by many as one of the most open in recent history, with seven or eight genuine title contenders in the mix to lift the sport’s most famous silverware come July 13 at Rio de Janeiro’s Maracana stadium.
