Liverpool and Manchester City face each other on Sunday in a fixture many predict will decide the winner of this seasons Premier League title, and ahead of that clash Ivorian Yaya Touré spoke exclusively to the Daily Mail and praised team mate Fernandinho.

The Brazilian joined City in the summer from Shakhtar Donetsk and has been a vital part of Manuel Pellegrini’s side since.

Fernandinho and Touré have developed a great telepathy in the centre of Man City’s midfield and the latter has praised the ‘cleverness’ of the Brazilian.

Touré said: “He’s very clever. Brazilians play pretty, fantastic football and Fernandinho is clever — he anticipates well, he presses well.

“His movement is so good but he can play with the ball as well. Before he came to City, he was at Shakhtar playing in my position, more as an offensive midfielder.”

Touré admits the Brazil international helps him a lot and revealed what manager Pellegrini asks from his central duo.

“Sometimes we have some difficulties because when Fernandinho attacks I have to stay more to protect the defence,” Touré admitted.

“But we are doing well and he helps me a lot.

“The manager demands a lot from us because he wants us to have more of the ball and he wants us to attack. He doesn’t want to just score and defend.”
