Chinese teenager Tang Shi is hoping his trial period with Botafogo will lead to a permanent contract.

The 17 year-old, who came the club’s attention when their Under-19 side toured Asia last year, has been handed the opportunity to train with the first-team.

Tang is owned by Shandong Luneng Taishan, but the forward admits he is only focused on securing a long-term future at Botafogo.

“It’s a big club, very professional and they train very hard,” he told Sportv. “Since I arrived they have treated me well and I’m happy here.”

“I want to stay here at Botafogo. But I have to continue working hard to have a chance of playing.”
