Brazilian Neto has been in fine form lately for Fiorentina and was impressive again yesterday as he helped shut out Napoli at Stadio San Paolo to earn his side a 1-0 win.

Gonzalo Higuain was the first to test the Brazilian keeper after just eight minutes but the Viola number one pushed his half volley over the bar.

Neto was also able to keep out Marek Hamšík’s shot in the first half before José Callejón tried to embarrass the Brazilian but the 24-year-old was wise to his long range second half strike.

And those saves were to contribute to a win as Joaquín headed the only goal of the game late on.

Neto was full of praise for his team mates when he spoke to Sky Sport Italia after the match with Forza Italian Football quoting the Brazilian.

“It is a great victory for us, especially after the disappointment of being knocked out of the Europa League (to Juventus),” Neto revealed.

“We worked hard to maintain our concentration for the entire game and we are happy to have performed. My thought is to do my best in every game for the good of my team mates and the team in general.

“I am glad we achieved victory on the road but we must continue to achieve the best we can and reach our full potential. We all deserve credit for the victory as we worked hard.”
