Spanish newspaper Marca has revealed a theory that might explain the Brazilian’s recent dip in form for the Catalan giants.

The 22-year-old is fouled every 22 minutes in La Liga.

He has not received the highest number of fouls because he missed several games through injury, but he does average the most fouls ahead of Rafinha (once every 23.9 minutes), Vela (24.4 minutes) and Diego Costa (25.9 minutes).

Lionel Messi has, somewhat surprisingly, played more games and received half as many fouls. He averages a foul every 50 minutes whereas Cristiano Ronaldo is fouled every 41 minutes.
