AC Milan head coach Clarence Seedorf has admitted that losing to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League second round is a bitter pill to swallow as the competition had given his charges the opportunity to salvage something out of what has been a pretty miserable season thus far.
The Dutchman, who only took over at the Italian giants in January, has been attempting to restore stability at Milan- and at the very least help them qualify for European competition again next term.
Kaka’s 30th Champions League goal, making him the highest scoring Brazilian in the tournament’s history, will serve as little consolation to Seedorf- as will Robinho’s anonymous display from the bench for the second half.
“I am absolutley convinced that I made the right choice to take the helm of Milan (Seedorf was still on the playing staff at Botafogo in December), we are preparing for the future and will try to finish the season in the best possible way.”
