The Tricolor will be hoping for a change of fortunes in Sunday’s clássico at the Pacaembu.

São Paulo haven’t won any derbies at the stadium since 2012 and have gone seven of those games without scoring a goal.

The last time they scored against a Paulista opponents was in the 2-1 defeat to Corinthians back in July of last year.

Since then they have lost 2-0 to Santos, 2-0 to Corinthians and stumbled to two goalless draws against the Timão, this weekend’s opponents.

2014 promised a fresh start but São Paulo lost 2-0 to Palmeiras and drew 0-0 with Santos despite putting in an impressive team performance.

“I’m not going to talk or worry about it. We have a chance on Sunday. This team is ready to grow substantially. This will be a hard-fought clássico,” said midfielder Souza.
