Dante believes if the fans are supporting Brazil like they did in the Confederations Cup last year then the Seleção can win the World Cup.

The Bayern Munich defender admits anxiety will be present among the players but thinks they can cope as long as they have the support.

BBC Brazil spoke with Dante who said: “I think the main challenge of the Brazilians, in addition to the adversaries, will be the anxiety, the pressure of the people to realise the dream.

“Yes we are prepared as players, but we have to have serenity, confidence to work and especially the people’s trust.

“If the people are with us and support us as they supported in the Confederations Cup, then we can give everyone this great joy and realise the dream all of us have.”

If Seleção can win the World Cup it could have a wonderful effect on Brazil as a nation according to Dante.

He added: “I think if we can win this World Cup it will be a very big leap for the whole country, not just in the sport, but also the human side.

“It will be an example for the kids, it will be a great opportunity and we look forward to working to achieve this success and power and give this joy to all the people.”
