The midfielder may be the missing piece in the rubro-negro’s jigsaw.
Flamengo are still looking for a holding midfielder and the latest name to be linked with the club is the 26-year-old Denilson.
The search for the final piece of Flamengo’s jigsaw is relentless and the Rio de Janeiro side recently came close to signing the Argentine Héctor Canteros but the deal fell through as the parties couldn’t agree on contractual terms.
Denilson played for São Paulo between 2005 and 2006 before moving to London. He remained at the Emirates stadium until 2011.
Since his return to the paulista side he’s made 128 appearances, scoring just one goal but receiving 49 yellow and five red cards.
