Brazil star Neymar has again lept to the defence of his family over his transfer saga and once again attacked any notion of wrongdoing over his move from Santos to Barcelona in the summer of last year.
Santos bigwigs have been constantly critical of Neymar’s father over fees received during the transfer and former club president Luis Alvaro de Oliveira Bibeiro even branded Neymar Sr a “jerk” over the situation.
Barca striker Neymar Jr took to his Instagram account to speak up for his father’s honour: “Once again I am taking the liberty of speaking of a matter that has gone over the lines.”
“Today I understand why my friend Ganso didn’t stay at Santos, it wasn’t because he didn’t like the club or didn’t want to play for Santos, but because of the board of directors!”
“I’m sorry Santos fans, but two people (current and former president) will not take my affection for Santos away.”
