Colombia striker and national talisman Radamel Falcao deserves to make the World Cup later this year, according to one of his international teammates Carlos Bacca.
Sevilla striker Bacca is praying like the rest of his country that Falcao, scorer of 20 international goals already, overcomes an horrendous cruciate knee injury in time to help Colombia tackle group C opponents Greece, Ivory Coast and Japan.
“We hope Falcao will make the World Cup. He’s very important for us on and off the pitch.”, reported soccerway.com.
“He deserves to be there and we will be waiting for him. He’s important not only for us but for the whole country and the sport as well.”
“In a World Cup you expect to have the world’s best players and he’s certainly one of them.”
Bacca had been tipped to start up front alongside Monaco’s Falcao before injury hit the latter.
