David Luiz has publically revealed his love for former side Benfica, although it was obvious to most anyway.

During an interview with Benfica TV he told the channel that he always looks out for the results of the Glorioso.

“I’m always rooting for Benfica, everyone knows the love I have for this club.

“I was very happy here and would love to go back. It’s always a pleasure to return to the Stadium of Light.”

In a strange coincidence it has been mooted that the Brazilian defender, who can play in midfield, might move back to his former club as part of the transfer, which would see Nemanja Matic move to Stamford Bridge.

However, despite those rumours it is incredibly unlikely that Luiz will be on the move and if he was then it would most likely be to either Bayern Munich or Barcelona, who are constantly linked with the 26-year-old.

In recent weeks Luiz has been one of the first names on the Chelsea team sheet and his level of performance has been excellent.

The west London club have been on a roll of late as they challenge for the Premier League and Luiz will firmly have titles on his mind for 2014 not transfers.
