Botafogo are continuing their pursuit of Internacional forward Diego Forlán, according to Lancenet.

It claims that the Uruguayan’s financial demands are making it difficult to find an agreement, though Botafogo remain confident they can secure a deal.

“The board of Botafogo has been trying in recent weeks, a way to facilitate the hiring of striker Diego Forlán, International, notes Lancenet, as reported by HITC

“At Inter, the Uruguayan, the best player of the World Cup 2010, has a contract until July 2015. However, Alvinegros hope he gets his release to close the deal.”

Botafogo are not the only team interested in Forlán. West Ham United have been strongly linked, while Major League Soccer outfits FC Dallas and FC Toronto are also believed to be keen.
