Sivasspor defender Cicinho has hailed the strength of the Spor Toto Süper Lig.
The 33 year-old former Brazil international moved to Turkey in the summer and believes the country"s top flight is on a par with Serie A.
“The quality and level of the league is quite high," he told uefa.com. "There are many good teams and every game is a big challenge. I would argue that it"s at the same level as Serie A."
Sivasspor, who are coached by Roberto Carlos, have started the season impressively. They are currently 4th in the Spor Toto Süper Lig, two points adrift of 3rd placed Kasımpaşa and 12 behind leaders Fenerbahçe.
Cicinho hopes the Yiğidolar can maintain their form during the second half of the campaign and push for the title.
"Fenerbahçe seem to be the title favourites, but there is another half [of the season] to be played," he continued. “There can be surprises and these can involve Sivasspor too."
