Milan attacker Robinho admits he is unlikely to return to Santos in the near future.

The 29 year-old was strongly linked with a move back to the Vila Belmiro-based club in the summer, but eventually signed a new deal with Milan, after negotiations stalled.

Robinho has always maintained that he would like to play for Santos again at some point, but doesn’t expect a move to materialise in the near future.

“Will I return to Santos? It’s difficult to return now because I have a contract with Milan. My future belongs to God,” he said, as reported by Football Italia.

Robinho’s form this season has been reasonably impressive, even if he hasn’t always featured regularly.

His return of three goals in 17 appearances earned him a surprise international recall for Brazil’s friendly victories against Honduras and Chile in November. Robinho impressed with cameo’s in both fixtures and scored in the 2-1 win over La Roja.
