A World Cup in Brazil is pure football fantasy in everyone’s eyes, including one of the greatest players of all time, Zinedine Zidane.
The talismanic folically-challenged Zidane, a winner in 1998 on home soil, would certainly love to be a part of next year’s event. “This World Cup is unmissable. If you had to choose one to play at, this would be it.”, he told fifa.com.
Zizou has experienced the entire range of emotions on the biggest stage, from scoring a brace in the 1998 final against Brazil, to his infamous head actions eight years later as Italy halted a French bid for a second crown.
It’s extremely tricky to pick a winner for 2014, even for a man of Zidane’s knowledge. He mentioned that he would like it if a “European team won in South America”, but stopped short of declaring his pick to triumph; aside from the expected patriotism for Les Bleus, who “have the players to make an impact.” Zidane would no doubt love another Brazil/France next July.
