Seleção defender, Marcelo has stressed there is no problem with fellow team mate Cristiano Ronaldo and backs him to beat Messi to the Ballon d’Or.
There have been recent reports suggesting that Marcelo and Ronaldo don’t have a working relationship at Spanish giants, Real Madrid.
But in a press conference this week, Marcelo was quick to rubbish these rumors: “I do not have a problem with Cristiano. These rumours are wrong. I never had any problems with him,”
“People are creating things that are not there. If anything, I have an excellent relationship with Cristiano.
“Who should win the Ballon d’Or? Cristiano Ronaldo. He deserves to win it, not just based on his performances this season, but also for all the hard work he always puts in.”
Marcelo has been joined by Ronaldo on the injury table, after the Brazilian is recovering from a knee injury and Ronaldo a hamstring injury.
